Yesterday when we were traveling back from Penang, after Ipoh hubby was telling me that he is very sleepy and tired. Thus, he needs me to drive. When I took over the car and drive, without me realizing I was driving at the speed exceed the speed limit.
Even though hubby is sleepy, he has noticed that I’m speeding and so told me to slow down. When I’m slowing down the car and move towards the inner lane. Suddenly I saw the traffic policeman just right in front of me, sitting below the overpasses (around Gopeng) and his speed camera was aiming at my car. Immediately I take a look at my speedometer, the reading was reducing but it still exceeded 110km/hr. My instinct telling me that I sure to ‘kena saman’ (get a speeding ticket) as there is no car driving in front of me. It looks like I’m the only one driving exceeded the limit.
I told hubby about it and asked him whether his friend can help us to settle the ‘saman’ (speeding ticket). He laugh at me and said this ‘where got such thing as settle, you still need to pay about RM80’. In my heart I was thinking ‘wow, I still have to pay RM80? That’s a lot for me’. Hubby some more jokingly saying this to the children ‘your mummy tonight can not sleep..liao’.

I continued to drive for an hour while hubby has a short nap. During this an hour of driving, I keep thinking about the speeding ticket that I will get and also reminding myself to drive within the speed limit. Later hubby took over to drive and he keeps take it as a joke saying these ‘wow, this RM80 can take and pay Adam’s bus fare’, ‘Adam, how nice if mummy use this RM80 to buy you toys’ and etc. Well, look at my hubby, I felt so heartsick already and yet he still can take it as a joke. I hope that it is really only RM80 and not more than that, or else I will more heartsick. It is a very good lesson for me to learn and never drive beyond the speed limit. I used to ‘make noise’ to hubby when he has these speed traps ‘saman’ and now myself get it…hahaha...
