Electronic Dictionary

It has been quite a while we been looking for a good dictionary that Adam can use especially for the Chinese which can show the Chinese stoke counts for a word, pronunciation, sample sentences and etc. After few weeks of using the traditional Chinese dictionary that we have bought, I found that it is very difficult for me to look for certain words as I’m not good in Chinese words at all. Most of the Chinese traditional dictionaries require you to know the word the stoke count or the bushou (部首) ‘section header’ radicals. This is the most tedious part for me. I might be able to speak well in Mandarin but when come to writing, I’m actually near to ‘zero’.

We wanted a complete dictionary that can be used by us as well in guiding Adam. Thus, we need to have translation functions for the three major languages used in the school syllabus. I have been going around the shopping complex, bookstore, online store and etc, to do a survey. I’m trying to find a simple but complete digital dictionary which consists of the important languages and Adam can write on the screen itself to look for the word without actually knowing the word. This electronic dictionary suit Adam perfectly.
